Invisible Anterior Restorations: Recreating Natural Esthetics with Resin Composites
This intensive one-day hands-on course is designed for clinicians who want to master contemporary techniques for creating highly esthetic anterior composite restorations. Combining evidence-based lectures with extensive practical training, the course provides participants with the knowledge and clinical skills needed to confidently reproduce natural tooth anatomy and esthetics in their daily practice.
During the theoretical session, Prof. Dr. Bora Korkut will cover the essential principles of esthetic treatment planning, composite material selection (monoshade, simplyshade, and polyshade systems), restorative instruments and bur selection, shade matching, rubber dam isolation, tooth preparation and beveling techniques, adhesive protocols, and efficient light-curing procedures. Participants will also gain a comprehensive understanding of composite layering concepts, additive and subtractive surface finishing techniques, surface texturing, and polishing protocols that are essential for achieving long-lasting, natural-looking restorations.
The hands-on session will focus on two practical clinical applications. Participants will first perform a crown fracture restoration on tooth 1.1 using a polychromatic layering technique combined with additive surface finishing, followed by a complete polishing protocol. The second exercise will involve the fabrication of a direct laminate veneer on tooth 2.1, utilizing polychromatic layering, subtractive surface finishing techniques, and final polishing procedures to achieve lifelike esthetic results.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to confidently plan and perform highly esthetic anterior composite restorations, accurately reproduce natural tooth morphology, shade, and surface texture, and apply predictable finishing and polishing protocols to achieve durable, biomimetic clinical outcomes.
